These are the projects in which Carlos Pellicer usually collaborates, some with international musicians as important as you will see on this page.

Work sessions with band: rehearsals, concerts…

Lectures on music by Carlos Pellicer, work sessions with band, workshops of instrumentation for band, rehearsals or concerts with Carlos Pellicer and with renowned soloists and his music.

Work sessions with music by Carlos Pellicer, working on rehearsals together with the wind orchestras, concert bands, wind ensembles, brass band or other formations and their conductors, for a rehearsal or concert. Carlos has also conducted his own music, giving the band musicians the opportunity to know his personal vision of the works composed by him.

Repertoire:

The best concerts with the best musicians. Projects with renowned soloists.

For amateur or professional bands, with more or less level, it is a very attractive idea to be able to meet and perform a concert and rehearsals with international artists as important as the following. The repertoire with music by Carlos Pellicer, gives the musicians and the conductor the possibility of knowing the point of view of the composer together with the soloists themselves. Carlos’s work with each band is different. He advises the conductor and the musicians of the works during work sessions with the band and the soloist, but he is also a conductor and in some projects he conducts the band himself. A perfect combination.

The soloists can also complete the project with a master class for all interested musicians and even complete the concerts with some other piece. We can even prepare a project with one of these soloists or several of them, which makes it a GREAT PROJECT. If you like any of these ideas you can ask for more information for your band.

Repertoire

‘Omaira’, concerto. Version for euphonium and concert band

This is the version for wind orchestra and euphonium. The new revised version for soloist and band euphonium was premiered on January 19, 2019 by the prestigious soloist Steven Mead along with the Belgian band Maasmechelen ConcertBand and maestro Mark Prills. Also, it is included in the latest CD of the prestigious English musician ‘PULSE’, with the ‘Royal Band of the Belgian Air Force, Conductor: Matty Cilissen.

‘Euphontastic’, Concerto, for Euphonium & wind orchestra.

Euphontastic is a piece written for Solo Euphonium and concert band and is dedicated to Steven Mead, an English virtuoso euphonium soloist and teacher who has played an important role in achieving worldwide recognition of the instrument: the euphonium. The derivative title ‘Euphontastic’, comes from the union of two very significant words to understand the meaning and character of the work: Euphonium+Fantastic. Through this union a true relationship is created between the great moments of virtuosity of the work, the maximum expressivity taken to the limit and the great majesty, all carried out by the great possibilities of this instrument. The premiere of the work was made during the celebration of the World Conference of the WASBE 2019 (World Association for Symphonic Bands and Ensembles), in Buñol (Valencia) and with the same Steven Mead as a soloist, accompanied by the Rovereto Wind Orchestra (IT) and under the direction of Maestro Andrea Loss.

The soloists can also complete the project with a master class for all interested musicians and even complete the concerts with some other piece.

Remember, for us it is always a pleasure to work with bands of all levels, big or small bands, amateurs or professionals.

Repertoire

‘Hemispheric Concerto’, for tuba solo & concert band

Hemispheric Concerto is a work for tuba solo and concert band, dedicated and commissioned by the prestigious international tubista Ricardo Carvalhoso. The conception of the word ‘hemisphere’ and how the individual parts come together to form a larger and more perfect whole, has been one of the main axes when composing this committed work for the band. Undoubtedly, today we can apply this concept to a multitude of elements, approaches and geographical, scientific and even musical reasoning. But surely the most concise and perhaps most perfect example of this concept is that which science applies to each of the structures that make up the human brain. The two halves, or hemispheres that make it up, have an inverse character and are asymmetrical.

Hemispheric Concerto aims to reflect all this structuring through the fundamental concepts of causal reasoning, memory recovery, perception and balance in general. All this musically related from the main melodic elements that are born fundamentally in the second movement of the work (Lost memory) and that are shared equally in the first and third (Allegro Causal and Allegro Perceptual), resembling the functioning of the brain human.

Repertoire

‘Chocolat’, for solo trumpet, two percussionists and concert band

‘Chocolat!’ is a piece written for solo trumpet, two percussionists and concert band with style inspired by funk and jazz music. The name, comes from the nickname of trumpet player Raúl Garcia ‘Chocolate’. It consists of a main part that is repeated in the third part of the work and a central part only where percusionitas and solo trumpet can openly vary the music initially proposed by the composer, totally ad libitum.

But ‘Chocolat!’ is more than another musical work for band, IS A PROJECT. With master classes, work sessions, concerts, etc.

‘RE-flect’, for four percussionists

Re-flect is a proposal for four percussionists in which the acoustic and spatial factor is very important. The title of the work is the key to understanding these aspects and also how most of the musical discourse is fed. Re-flect means reflection, and in this sense the work is built from an axis of symmetry on which the first two percussionists reflect on the third and fourth respectively in terms of rhythms and sounds.

Esaú, Raúl, José Luis can also complete the project with a master class for all interested musicians and even complete the concerts with some other piece.
